Works on paper

I had a saying once: you do your best work on your worst materials, so make sure your worst materials are very good.

I know a lot of artists who do their best work on paper, whether it's drawings or paintings. I've painted on paper for years. Compared to buying or building stretchers and canvas, a five dollar sheet of 100% rag paper is an incredible bargain.

While works on paper are a lot easier to store (after a while storage becomes a really big deal) one eventually has to confront the issue of framing works on paper. Expensive.
