Gallery 414 to close

It is with great sadness that I share that I learned yesterday that Gallery 414, which has been serving the Fort Worth art community for almost 24 years, is closing. As stated on the 414 website, “In 1995, founders John Hartley, Adele Krause and Razz Fiesler opened Gallery 414 as a space to promote and exhibit contemporary art in a variety of media and subject…

Save the date(s) – Spring 2019 show

Sadly – the show is no longer happening this spring. See the next post. I’m deliriously happy to be able to announce I’ll be in a 2 person show this spring with my friend, the fabulous artist Ann Ekstrom, who I’ve known since before I knew anything else. We’ll be hanging art at Gallery 414, where I’ve shown several times in the past. The opening…

Fall ArtsGoogle 2018 – I’ll be there!

The weather has gotten cold and wet, which means it’s time for Fall ArtsGoogle in Fort Worth’s Near SouthSide. I’ll have a handful of pieces, old and new, at Broadway Baptist Church, at 305 W Broadway Ave, just south of downtown Fort Worth, Texas.  Come in and say hi – I’ll be set up in the Narthex (the lobby in front of the sanctuary). While…

Fifth Annual Artspace 111 Regional Juried Exhibition – see it (and me) now!

I spaced out posting this earlier, but the Fifth Annual Artspace 111 Regional Juried Exhibition (boy that’s a mouthful) is up, and I’m in it again this year. But you’d best hurry – this is the last week it’ll be up; show closes after July 28! As always it’s a fascinating show, full of good work. I’ve got pretty good placement this year – my…

RonTaylorCrouch.com – now live!

I just finished getting all the tweaks and technical issues sorted out for https://www.rontaylorcrouch.com and it is now live! You’ll see a lot of the same content/images of art, but it’s primarily devoted to showing the art – just the art. Not near as much long boring talk (ahem) as is on www.ralphart.com. Please take a look! If you see any weirdness, let me know!…

Coming soon! New website: RonTaylorCrouch.com

On advice of my web-savvy oldest son, I’ve started developing a new website that focuses on just my art: www.rontaylorcrouch.com. The Ralph Art Website Project website will remain as the place where I wander and ramble and go off on long boring tangents; the new site will be focused on showcasing the art without a lot of jaw-boning. All the jaw-boning will remain here on…

Caturday!

I’ve recently started posting drawings of my cats (with the occasional cat painting) with the hashtag #Caturday on Saturday mornings, on Instagram and Facebook. Mostly they are just quick little sketches on 5 x 8 sketchbooks. They aren’t much but they are fun to do. Enjoy! (and follow me on Instagram!)

Cat Drawings

It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything on the the site.  The last 15 months have been pretty eventful. We had to put my poor, sick Hobbes (the ginger thug) down back in October of 2016. After a decent interval, two new cats joined the household: Baxter and O’Malley.  In December of 2016, Dorothy and I and the boys took a trip to NYC…

New show: Aoelian – of the wind

I’m in a show that opens Friday November 25, the day after Thanksgiving, from 7 – 10 PM at Arts 5th Ave. Cast aside the usual Black Friday Shopping Madness (except for art shopping) and join us! Arts 5th Ave is a cozy fun environment nestled snugly in the heart of Historic Fairmount in Mid-South Fort Worth. This will be fairly different than the show that just…

B/W&C opening

B/W&C show – update with images

The B/W&C show has come to a close and we’ve pulled the pieces from Gallery 414. It was a great success. We had close to 200 people (at best count) to the opening on October 22, and a respectable stream of visitors on the following weekends. Many thanks to Leo Wesson and Kipp Baker for agreeing to participate with me in this endeavor, and especially…

Hanging the show at Gallery 414

B/W&C Opening tonight (October 22)

The show is hung, the food (and beer) is bought! Tonight is the opening for our show at Gallery 414. You’ll see me and photographer/friends Kipp Baker and Leo Wesson. We’ll be standing around, awkwardly waiting for people to ask us about the work and the like. Mostly we are looking forward to getting a chance to visit with friends and family. Opening is from…

New – now sign up for email updates!

I launched the revamped Ralph Art Website over the weekend, and one of the features I’m most interested in seeing whether people use is the email update service. Here’s how it works – signing up puts you on a list I’ll use to send out email updates about upcoming exhibitions, new stuff on the website, and general announcements. “Oh fine,” you’re thinking, “That’s all I…
