Spring 2021 Shows

As we slowly, carefully ease out of Covid-19 restrictions, I’ll be in several shows this spring. Most of these will have some sort of measures in place (social distancing, limits on the number of visitors, etc.) but *will be* in person, not virtual, events. 2021 TAC Small Works Show I have two small (obviously!) pieces in this show, both little cat paintings. Now through April…

Giovanni Valderas, Exhibitions Manager at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center, just posted a Zoom interview he conducted with me last week about my show at the FWCAC. Thanks, Giovanni! The show will be up one more day (I take it down on Sunday, Nov. 8), so no more putting it off! Here’s the interview (if you’re not seeing an embedded video, here’s a link…

A socially distanced summer

If you’re reading this I’m glad because it means hopefully you are well. Here we are, almost to August, and…well, I’m still here. I’ve been working my day job remotely (in my studio/office) for over 5 months, trying not to get too batty. Life has found an uneasy equilibrium, alternating between boredom and low-level undifferentiated panic. You’d think working from home I’d get more art…

Art (and life) in the year of COVID-19

Little did I realize that everyone’s plans for 2020 would take a drastic turn thanks to the Coronavirus Pandemic. I’d been accepted in a couple of shows this spring – one in Irving and one in San Antonio – which are not going to happen in the original venues. The San Antonio show is now going to be a virtual show; the Irving show is…

Looking back at 2019

2019 was pretty much a breakout year for me in several ways. For starters, a new website (https://www.rontaylorcrouch.com), urged on me by my millenial sons, who told me pointblank, “Nobody knows or cares who ‘Ralph Art’ is – use your real name.” They also said I talked too much on the Ralphart.com website. “Just show your art and don’t ramble on.” So if you want…

Work on exhibit this Fall (September edition)

A couple more chances to see some recent work coming up soon! Opening reception is 6 – 9 PM. Gallery Night runs from 12 noon until 9 PM at most participating galleries/exhibition spaces…

Upcoming show – Solo Show[Down] 2019 at FWCAC

I’m excited to announce I’m in several shows this summer at the Fort Worth Community Art Center. I’ll be showing 2 works on paper during Solo Show[Down] 2019, juried by Christina Rees, Editor-in-Chief of Glasstire, the online Texas art magazine. One of the pieces is one of my favorite cat paintings ever. The show runs from July 5 – July 24, 2019, with an opening…

Where is all the Art??

Just saw that Flickr, where most images on this site are hosted, is down for maintenance. Which means no images in my various galleries. Ouch! Until this maintenance is complete, you can visit my other site: https://www.rontaylorcrouch.com. It should be just fine.
